Helen Step Down

                                                Hoffman

Helen found herself in heaven,

She said it was very dark

She said she felt love, incredible love,

Said she heard a voice saying,

Helen step down

Helen steps down onto a platform,

And the very next thing that she knows

Sheís sitting in a booth down at Sherrieís,

Talking to her favorite waiter so

Searching for a tip she finds her purse is full of,

Beautiful shinny nickels, quarters and dimes

God had put there

I said Helen thatís a really nice story,

She said it isnít a story itís the truth

I said thatís not exactly what I mean,

She says, furthermore itís still happening

At home Iíve got a bowl and a picture,

And many another place

I often find these sacred deposits,

And again I am reminded,

I have been blessed, I have been

Blessed are the open minded,

Blessed are the singers of songs,

Objectivity is never one sided

When I think about Helenís story,

What usually comes to mind

Is the nature of my own deposits,

That come to me wrapped in rhythm and rhyme

Sometimes I wake up in the morning,

With a song clanging around in my head

Reaching for a pencil and paper,

Again I am reminded,

I have been blessed, I have been

Blessed are the open minded,

Blessed are the singers of songs,

Paradise is equally divided

Helen step down, into my sound,

Spinning around
