Salvation Recreation

Hoffman

3:55

I seem to have no time for hurrying

To find my way back to the nest

I beat my wings sufficiently at best

And the man at my door he keeps telling me

That Ive only got to pass one test

And hes dealing in a favorite pastime

Should I get myself a hit or move on to the next

The next one

Salvation, recreation, on occasion

Id say Id go for salvation

And the rest of my time I spend

Trying to find out what time is about

And I think I have developed a theory, so hear me out

Times, determined by the balance of your sentient soul

And sometimes, sometimes Id say I really dont know

So I go, for

Salvation, recreation, on occasion

Id say Id go for salvation

Id like a permanent vacation

With anything that I want

Sometimes, I think that when its over

And my body turns to earth

Somehow the timing is going to reveal to me

Just what an hour is worth

And in the mean time retrospectively

I suppose I would have to say

That it has not been all so bad

For a mindful lump of clay

That wants a permanent vacation

With anything that I want

Think of this life as fabric

And we as tiny threads

Are woven into the tapestry connected by our heads

And think of your feet as planted

Upon your mothers back

And Im wondering how much longer we can keep standing

We can keep standing

On the crack

Salvation, recreation, on occasion

Id say Id go for salvation
